One arrested; some stolen property recovered




Two Pleasanton police officer were sent out to investigate a burglary at the Water Well Services building in the 1200 block of Bensdale.

When the officers arrived, they learned that two trucks had been stolen along with several thousand dollars in tools.

One of the trucks was found with a flat tire. It had been abandoned just west of the Pleasanton city limits on FM-476. Not long afterward, the second truck was located and recovered on County Road 304. The suspects allegedly were unsuccessful in their attempt to start the truck on fire.

Lt. Ronald Sanchez took over the investigation. After following upon several leads, he learned that some stolen property might be found at the Poteet Housing Authority apartments on Loop 282. Officers searched two apartments which resulted in the discovery of several tools taken in the burglary. Police arrested Bobby Tijerina Jr. age 28 at the scene.

Pleasanton Police Chief Gary Soward, said the investigation is still underway and more arrests are expected. The case, Soward said, got some valuable tips through Crime Stoppers, which greatly helped in solving this case.

“Not all of the tools have been recovered and we ask for the public’s cooperation in recovering the rest of the stolen items. If you have recently purchased any tools and suspect that they may be stolen, please contact the Pleasanton Police Department at (830) 569-3869,” he continued.
