‘Oh! The Places You’ll Go’

A hhhh…. the graduation season is upon us. Seniors all over our communities as well as world wide are preparing for their next step.

There were a few years that I gave away Dr. Seuss’ book “Oh! The Places You’ll Go” to friends who were graduating.

If you haven’t read it or it’s been awhile, grab one or Google it.

In great Dr. Seuss form, the rhymes are there along with a sweet message of doing and being your best plus the reality of sometimes it just won’t happen.

In fact, this isn’t just a good book for the newly graduated. After rereading it myself, it is a great book for anyone that has or is going through a change in their life. Seniors, set your sights, experience all that you can (within reason). If you’re going to college or heading to the military or workforce you will still be learning. So, be sure to study, have fun, learn some more, show up early, dress appropriately, volunteer, get involved, keep learning and be grateful you have this opportunity.

And, parents who are starting the emptying of nests or who may be finishing this rite of passage, take a look-see and read this book … soon.

And for you parents who will be sending your kiddos to Kindergarten this fall, you may consider buying this book now. There are parents out there who are highly organized and have taken the book to their child’s teacher at the end of each school year and asked them to write a message for the future graduate. Sweet idea – hey it could happen!

The way I see it, Class of 2019, good luck on achieving all that you plan. Go to all of those places you can!
