Don’t know about you, but when April begins, it seems it is non-stop until summer arrives.

Strawberry Festival And….since it IS April… that means that Strawberry Festival is just around the corner….next weekend that is. We will have our special section full of all what is going on for the threeday event. The City of Poteet swells to hundreds of thousands of folks to sample the delicious strawberries and lots of other treats….not to mention the great entertainment. The Strawberry Festival Association begins early and works late to make sure everyone is entertained and that the auction and food show all go off smoothly.

Thelma Cardwell Cale featured Our dear friend, columnist and cornea transplant recipient Thelma Cardwell Cale was a featured speaker a the Celebration of Sight event held March 15. Read her story on page 1B.

“Fresa-tina” at Berry Bash Want to get in a strawberry fight? The Berry Bash at La Bodega in Poteet will hold a berry version of the Tomatina the Spanish tomato fights. It all happens this Saturday, April 6 with food, arts/crafts vendors starting at 9 a.m. Seethe article on page8B.
