The no. 17-ranked Pleasanton Lady Eagles maintained their unbeaten run to open the season with a convincing 40-23 win over the Pearsall Lady Mavericks on the road Tuesday night.
A big, 15-point second quarter helped the Lady Eagles break the game open after leading just 8-4 after the first quarter. The Lady Eagles went on to outscore Pearsall 17-12 to close out the second half.
Baylee Bauer led the way for the Lady Eagles with a big night. Bauer notched a team-high 15 points, with 12 of those points coming by three-pointers.
Kalyssa Rios finished the game with seven points and the second-highest scorer for Pleasanton.
The win came after the Lady Eagles held at no. 17 in the recent rankings by the Texas Association of Basketball coaches.
Pleasanton (7-0) will travel to the Tilden Classic this weekend.
