Cuellar to announce Pleasanton Municipal Airport to Receive $600,000 in Federal Funding for New Fuel Farm

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (TX-28) will hold a press conference Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. to announce that the Pleasanton Municipal Airport will receive $600,000 in federal funding for the construction of a new fuel farm to replace the airport’s current, outdated fuel system.

The new fuel farm, consisting of two 10,000-gallon tanks and a new JET A fuel tank, will provide a better delivery system and added capacity to service more aircraft. The farm will also offer a selfserve system that can be utilized for helicopters. The Pleasanton Express will be going live for the meeting on Facebook.

Texas Farm Bureau Scholarships Available

Atascosa and McMullen County students are encouraged to apply for more than $235,000 in Farm Bureau college scholarships offered on the local, district and state levels.

“Scholarships and awards are an excellent opportunity for Farm Bureau families to earn money to pursue their education,” Chico Cox, Atascosa County Farm Bureau President said. “We encourage all eligible students to apply.”

There are four high school scholarships available: Memorial/Honorary and District Scholarships, Young Farmer & Rancher Scholarship and the Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship.

Enrolled college students can apply for four scholarships: Young Farmer & Rancher Scholarships for Enrolled College Students, TB S.M. True Jr. Agricultural Scholar Award, Mia Balko Student Teaching Scholarship and the Rural Veterinary Scholarship.

TFB scholarship applications are due online by March 15.
