Nasal Spray

Due to an opioid crisis, all JPD patrol vehicles will have Narcan onboard 24/7. The nasal spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of an opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems and severe sleepiness. The stock of Narcan was brought to JPD at no cost through Emergent Biosolutions.

Vaccinations offered

Judge Felix Herrera III, Justice of the Peace Pct. 1, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Emergency Management will be hosting a COVID Booster Vaccination Clinic on Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon at 2136 Second St. in Pleasanton. Booster shots will be available for anyone over 65 and all others 18-64 with underlying conditions. Boosters will also be given to anyone working as a first responder such as police officers, firemen and people in the medical field. People working in the retail industry with large numbers of customers will also be eligible. You are eligible to receive the Moderna and Pfizer boosters if you took the vaccines a minimum of six months ago. Those who took the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible to receive the booster two months after receiving the original vaccine. You will be required to bring your vaccination cards along with a valid ID for verification. These vaccines are by appointment only so you must call their office at 830-569-2801 for an appointment.

Poteet Discount Pharmacy offers COVID and flu vaccines. They are located at 9014 N. State Hwy. 16 in Poteet and open Monday- Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
