National Police Week 2020

COVID-19. I am sure that most of our community has grown weary of hearing about it. Every time we turn on the news or log onto our social media accounts, COVID-19 is there.

Our entire nation has struggled with this virus. Some cities have been hit harder than others. During this year’s National Police Week, we at the Pleasanton Police Department would like to ask everyone to say a short prayer for our nation’s law enforcement officers who have died from health issues due to this virus. Our law enforcement community has faced some tough times in the past, and I am sure that we will face some tough times in the future. However, one thing is certain, the men and women of the Pleasanton Police Department and all of the agencies in Atascosa County are dedicated to serving their communities, even though staying home is not an option for them.

We deeply appreciate your support and we long for the day where we can once again receive a handshake and a hug from the communities we are sworn to serve. Lord, please heal our nation.

RONALD SANCHEZ is the Chief of Police for the Pleasanton Police Department and a Master Texas Peace Officer.
