Naomi Ward passed away on July 14, 2021. She was born in Elbert, to AD and Eva Rodgers. She graduated from Throckmorton High School. For the next 37 years, she was a secretary then after that, she had her own flea market business.
During her younger years, she was an avid water skier, trap and skeet shooting and loved competing at the small gun club she belonged to. Ask her husband, she was wicked with her 20GA pump and was the best polecat shooter in the county. She loved working on our property till 11 years ago when she had back surgery that left her mostly in a wheelchair.
She is preceded in death by her son Steven Parsons; parents A.D. Rodgers and Eva of Elbert; two brothers and their wives Marvin and Louise Rodgers of Ft. Worth, Clifton and Marynell Rodgers of Olney; sister and her husband Valda and Ralph Anderson; mother and father-in-law Marvin and Evelyn Ward; and brothersin law Dorman Roberts of San Antonio and Robert Ward.
Naomi is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Ken Ward of Pleasanton; sister Jimmie Roberts of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
