The magic of Merry on Main begins Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. with a fantastically fun ice slide and the talented tunes of the Most Wanted Band. Merry on Main is a two-day Christmas magic memory making extravaganza with so much to do for young and old. Everyone is invited and it is free.

Highlights include:

Free showing of Home Alone at the Plestex, Ice Slide, Wheels & Wagon Parade, Old Fashion Kids Carnival with Cup Cake Walk, Pictures with Santa, Christmas Cookie Contest, Fireworks, Christmas Caroling, Lighted Parade, Food and Craft vendors, Celebrity appearances by The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus and so much more. There is still time to enter the Santa Run, the Cookie Contest, the Wagon and Wheels Parade, the Christmas Light Contest, and the Lighted Parade but Wednesday is the deadline for most.

Santa Run:

Early entries cost $20 and will receive a t-shirt. Deadline to register is Wednesday, December 12th. Register through the Merry on Main Facebook event or call the Parks and Rec Dept at 830-569- 5904. To run, arrive at the Town Square Stage in front of the Pleasanton Civic Center no later than 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15th. Santa suits encouraged. The run will continue north on Main St and will make the small loop around Adams, Reed and Hunt streets. Participants can run for free, but will not receive a shirt if they are not registered by Dec 12th.

 

 

Wagons and Wheels parade:

Participants wanted! Decorate your kids’ bicycles, tricycles, and wagons to parade down Main St. The parade begins at 12:30pm on Dec 15th. To enter, arrive at the Town Square Stage in front of the Civic Center no later than 12:15 to line up. The parade will run to the Kids Carnival in The Pleasanton Woman’s Club yard. Trophies will be awarded to the best entry in each category.

Lighted parade:

Parade entries need to be submitted to the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce by Wednesday, December 12th. Entries need to be lighted with a family-friendly theme. If you have questions, contact the Chamber at 830-569- 2163. The parade will kick off with a fireworks show at 6:45pm. Entries need to be lined up in the River park by 6pm. Parking for participants will be available at the old bus barn on Adams

 

 

CookieSt. contest:

Age Groups: Kids 6-14 and adults 15 & up. One entry per person. Contestant must add name and number on bottom of plate. Please provide at least 12 cookies and display them on a disposable plate. Cookies need to by turned in by 3:45pm on Saturday to the Merry on Main Tent located next to Nest Feathers. Judging starts at 4pm.

There will be prizes given away for 1st &and 2nd in each

Categoriesage group. are: Best Taste, Best Decorated, and Best overall. First place winners, their cookies and the recipe will be featured in the Pleasanton Express. For more information please contact Terri at cueter30@hotmail.com.

 

 

HUGE shout out for Food Vendors! The cost is only $25 fee to put up a booth. There is money to be made feeding the hungry crowds. Please contact Cindy Mumm at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, 830-569-2163 or stop by the chamber office. Space is filling up fast.
