Melva Joy West, age 80, of Seguin, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 in New Braunfels.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Dojahn and husband Stan Peterson of Seguin and Glenda Bartlett and husband Gary of Jourdanton; son, Alan West and wife Jackie of Victoria; sister, Dorcelle Keese of Del Rio; nieces, Carlene Smith and La Verne Kidd both of Jourdanton, and grandchildren, Justin West and wife Colleen, Derek Bartlett, Morgan Neyland and husband Joseph, Erynn Bartlett and husband Rocky Villalobos, Todd West, Theresa Bryan and husband Andy, Barbara Dojahn, Andrew Dojahn and wife Amber, Brooke Sanders and Billy Sanders.
Melva is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Laynie Bryan, Jadyn Neyland, Rhyder Neyland, Caiden Villalobos, Jayce Bryan, Andrew Bryan, Cameron Guerra, Zoey Guerra, and Dylan Guerra; great nephews, Wayne Hubka and wife Eileen of McCoy and John Curtis Hubka and wife Sonya of Eagle Pass; sister-in-law, Clara Walker of Mesquite, and numerous extended family and friends.
Melva was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ora Lela (McKinney) Walker; son, Randall Lloyd West; granddaughter, Kassie Nicole Bartlett; grandson, Clayton Travis Dojahn, and brother, Calvin Walker.
Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton, from 2 – 8 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 2. Graveside services and interment will be held in Jourdanton City Cemetery, corner of Fig Street and Waltom Street, Jourdanton, at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016.
