McMullen Co. prepares for their show




Tate Turner, 8-year-old son of Jennifer and Chris Turner, has high hopes for his Hereford steer “Bucky” this weekend at the McMullen County Livestock Show. This will be his first time to compete. The auction begins at 2 p.m.

The McMullen County Livestock Show will be underway this Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24.

Judging will begin at 6 p.m. with Rabbits and Poultry on Friday. Saturday’s judging starts at 7:3-0 a.m. with Swine, Goats, Lambs and Steers.

The big auction will begin at 2 p.m.

A barbeque lunch, catered by McBee’s will be available for $10 per plate, plus the popular snack bar will also be open.

Stock show board members include: Chris Turner, President; Clint Walker, Vice President; Tiffany Serrata, Secretary/Treasurer; Carlos Casas, Catie Blaha, Carrol Almendarez, Kristi Lewis and Jackie Seidel.

Boyd Grimshaw will serve as auctioneer with Dale Patterson handling the records.
