Greetings from the Mayor’s office: I have had a lot of questions concerning the work that is being done on Pulliam Drive at Crestline. Somewhere in the area of 50 to 60 years ago, a 12-inch water line was installed on Pulliam. That 12-inch line bottlenecked to an 8-inch line at Crestline and continued south along Pulliam crossing FM3350 and then went left or east to the large oak tree, that stills stands today. Just past the oak tree the 8-inch line joined back to a 12 inch. One can only surmise that this was done because of very little development in the area at that time.
Because of progress and continued development in the area today, the city has gone in and replaced that 8-inch line with a 12 inch. The bottom line is that this area from Crestline down Pulliam across 3350 and east to Airport Road, and south on Airport to Hwy. 97, will have much better volume for fire flow or basically, better water service for fire protection. This includes all businesses, apartments, subdivisions, the Airport and new Fire station plus any future development. And yes, the city will go in and repave Pulliam from Crestline to 3350. I expect the paving to start somewhere around November. This will be the first street section paved from our new budget. This water line replacement has been needed for a long time and I’m glad to see it happen now as we continue to better serve this communities’ current and future residents.
Until next week………. best regards.
