Mayor’s Message – Pleasanton

Greetings from the Mayor’s office: During this time of the year, I always think of our service men and women stationed around the world who will not be home for Christmas. As a veteran, I remember spending several holiday seasons in countries that don’t even recognize Christmas. Of course, on the military base, we had the chance to attend church services and exchange gifts with those we worked with. It just wasn’t the same and wasn’t even close. Being away from family during this time of the year is tough. And here in 2020, Linda and I will spend the holidays away from family members here in Pleasanton. Due to the pandemic, we feel that it is not worth the chance of traveling or gathering in large numbers and will do our best to keep from being an active number. So, we will spend our time here, in the city we love, and think of those who will not be able to be with their families. Let’s keep our thoughts on those who serve and are thousands of miles away this holiday season, and those who are confined with no family visits due to the virus.

We certainly look ahead to this time next year for a better and happier holiday season.

As mayor of this city, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year filled with hope, good will and good health. For our many blessings, let us be thankful …
