Greetings from the Mayor’s Office, We have had plenty of warm and sunny days lately, the kind of combination that pushes a lot of us to get in our daily exercise time, and a lot of that time is spent outdoors. Let me personally invite you to walk, jog, or peddle that bicycle in our River Park. We have an area that surrounds the park that is there for you. Twentyfour hour security is provided as well as LED street lights to guide you along the path if you‘re there after dark. One of my favorite verses goes likes this: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” A Pleasanton resident came up to me the other day at lunch and told me how much she enjoyed riding her new bicycle in the park and was looking forward to many more miles, and, she continued, “I feel much better now getting my exercise.” And she thanked me and the city for doing that for her. She is one of many who have relayed the same “thanks” and especially parents with kids who have a place to go in this city that is free of charge. Moments like these are those that kind of take my breath away. So, come on down and enjoy the park. Your body and your doctor will thank you. Mine does.
Have yourself a great week and we will visit again next week. Until then, best regards.
