Mayor’s Message – Pleasanton

Greetings from the Mayor’s Office, I hope you had a wonderful Veterans Day holiday. If you did, remember, we are able to enjoy this freedom because of our veterans who fought to keep this country free. We must remember and thank them every day, not just once a year, for their sacrifice.

A wise man or even a wise woman once said, “once it is printed and published, it’s a little late for correction.” A recent letter went out to some of our residents about a final notice of a Backflow Prevention Assembly test. This is the test that is required every two years if you have a residential sprinkler system. This test is required by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality and it is a test to check the backflow preventor on that system. The test is required to protect our public water. The letter which was mailed did not come from the city, but, from a third-party contractor. We have asked them to resubmit a new letter establishing a new due date. Look for the letter after 12-1-19, with an extended due date of the test. For additional info, check the City of Pleasanton website and look under Latest News and Final Notice. My home system will be one of those that will need testing. Have a wonderful week and we will visit again next week……..best regards.

TRAVIS HALL is the Mayor of Pleasanton. You may E-mail him at mayor@ pleasantontx.gov.
