Mayor’s Message – Pleasanton

Greetings from the Mayor’s office: I would like to again thank Noel Wilkerson- Holmes and the folks at the Pleasanton Express for the opportunity to visit with you each week through this column. Even though it is a challenge, I feel honored to share with you insight and news concerning my office and the City itself.

This Thursday evening, we will be awarding bids for the completion of curbs and sidewalks in our city park. I make a trip almost every day to the park and see folks there each and every time I visit. Folks walking, riding bicycles, family get-togethers and the baseball field and soccer field being used as well as the skate park, splash pad, and playgrounds. If you haven’t had a chance to go by for a visit, let me invite you to do so. There is no admission and parking is free and keep in mind we furnish security around the clock, seven days a week, year around. We will also be awarding the bid for the Main Street Archways. Looking forward to having them completed. They will certainly add to the beautiful downtown area as we continue to showcase this and other areas of our city.

This Wednesday, myself and Mayor Doc Williams of Jourdanton, along with our City Managers and City Engineer will meet and try to finalize and define the exact location of Pleasanton and Jourdanton City Limits on Hwy. 97. We have been working on this for the past year and are very close to completion. This is the first time that this has been addressed in over a decade. Will keep you posted. Until next week…….best regards.
