Greetings from the Mayor’s office:
This week I wanted to share with you some of the positive things that our city employees do for the public. These “gold star” deeds commonly go unnoticed by our citizens because our employees are not interested in self recognition.
With the assistance of Jessica Tom of the Child Welfare Board, city employees Greg Leach and Tony Aguirre came up with the idea to provide all of the foster children, in Pleasanton and the surrounding area, a chance to enjoy our city pool.
Free summer passes were made available and what a wonderful idea. These fifty (50) young people now have a cool place to enjoy the hot summer.
The City Parks and Recreation Department is doing a great job in providing summer activities for folks of all ages. Check out what’s available in the Pleasanton Express or pick up a free copy of the Parks and Recreation magazine at the Civic Center. Again, congrats to Jessica, Greg and Tony for a job well done. I will bring you more “gold star” stories in the future. Until then, best regards…
