Greetings from the Mayor’s office: This past Tuesday, Congressman Henry Cuellar was in town to award the City of Pleasanton an aviation capital improvement grant in the amount of $ 508,000. We are truly grateful and the following is part of my welcome to the Congressman and those in attendance at our Municipal Airport. “The City Council and I are grateful to Congressman Henry Cuellar for his support of the City of Pleasanton and our municipal airport. The capitol improvement grant awarded to the city today is going to provide much needed runway enhancements that will improve aviation safety and save local taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars. Congressman Cuellar has always come through for this city and we thank him once again for his effort and his time in coming here today and awarding this grant.”
The work will begin in the near future and will include new asphalt topping and restriping of the airport runway. This is just the beginning of improvements that we have planned for the airport and extension of the runway is also in the future so this city can attract and land larger planes that are flying into the Eagle Ford Shale area of South Texas. We look forward to the future of our municipal airport.
Until next week……best regards.
