Mary Bartosh of Jourdanton passed away on February 3, 2018. She was 94 years old, Mary was born in the small town of West, Texas, outside of Waco and moved to Jourdanton in her early years. She lived her entire life in Jourdanton, attending school there and helped work the farm.
Mary was born to Anton and Rosie Bacak. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ivan Bartosh, brothers John, Fred, Anthony and sister Martha.
Mary met and married Ivan Bartosh and they stayed in the Jourdanton area farming and ranching. Mary loved doing crafts, baking, and greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also if a new hobby was the hot topic, she could master it and do it better. Mary was also an avid reader and could talk about current events as well as historical issues.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Popp and husband Edmund, granddaughter Katherine and husband Scott Noble, grandson David Popp and wife Renee and granddaughter Meredith Popp.
She will be missed not only by her family but also her church family.
Visitation will be conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Wednesday, February 7 from 6 – 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 1700 Campbell in Jourdanton on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery.
