Martin G. Hinojosa, 81, previously of Brownsville, entered eternal rest on Thursday, Oct, 21, 2021, in Jourdanton. He was born in Santa Rosa, Texas on October 24, 1939, to David Hinojosa and Esperanza (Garza) Hinojosa.
Martin managed several businesses while living in Brownsville, including Gulf Mart, Shoppers World and Handy Dan. He was ASE Master Technician for 33 years at Burton Auto Supply until his retirement. Martin was a resident of Brownsville until his retirement, when he moved to Pleasanton. While in Pleasanton he enjoyed serving on the Atascosa County Appraisal Review Board and spending his later years living out his passion of raising cattle on his ranch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David L. Hinojosa and Esperanza G. Hinojosa and sister, Delia Hinojosa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alma Irma Hinojosa; sons, David Hinojosa (Cristina), Martin Hinojosa, Jr. (Vicki), Lee M. Hinojosa and daughter, Iris I. Hinojosa; grandchildren, Craig Ryan Hinojosa (Ralynn), KC Hinojosa and Ty Hinojosa; great-grandchild, Jaxon David Hinojosa; sisters, Mary E. Alaniz (Reynaldo), Bernice G. Binford (Ralph), Mary H. Garcia and brother, Joe L. Hinojosa (Elly).
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 3, at Hurley Funeral Home, with the visitation from 2-3 p.m., the reading of the rosary at 3 p.m. and a memorial Mass at 3:30 p.m. Services will conclude at the end of the service.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn, in Pleasanton.
