Marlene Hamlin Wilson, age 79, of Jourdanton, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Jourdanton. She was born January 28, 1933.

Mrs. Wilson moved to Pleasanton in 1976, and in 1977 she and her husband Bob opened the first of five convenience stores, which they operated as a family with their children for 25 years. Around 1998, at the age of 65, she decided to get her real estate license and was a realtor until her death. She loved to be with people and help them in any way she could.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Woodlee and husband Bubba of Pleasanton, Teressa Bowling and husband Ronald of San Antonio, and Lisa Robertson and husband David of Jourdanton; her son Robbie Wilson of Pleasanton, and her sisters Elza Jo Hamlin of Gadsden, Alabama, and Sherry Wisener and husband Harold of LaGrange, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Conatser, Mackenzie Turner and husband Craig, John Patrick Conatser and wife Shanna, Leticia James and husband Ken, Jessica Bowling, Brandon Bowling and wife Megan, Joshua Robertson and Rachel Villaneda, and Molly Robertson and Steve Torres, and her great-grandchildren, Ventruce Turner, Alex Turner, Shaelyn Conatser, Ashley James, Allison James, Logan James, Caleb Bowling, Alyssa Bowling, Harmony Robertson, and Brayden Torres, as well as her very special friend, Jeanne Whitfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Eunice (Clayton) Hamlin, her husband Robert E. Wilson, her sister Janet Cox, and her brothers Richard Hamlin and Fred Hamlin.

Visitation for Mrs. Wilson was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2 – 8 p.m. with family present to receive visitors and friends from 6 – 8 p.m. A second visitation will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 2 – 8 p.m., with family present to receive friends and visitors for the entire visitation.

A funeral service will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Jourdanton City Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be David Robertson, Craig Turner, John Conatser, Brandon Bowling, Joshua Robertson, Alex Turner, Steve Torres, and Ken James.
