The seventh annual Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Market Days kicked-off at noon, at the Atascosa River Park, on Oct. 18.
Event host Donovan Garcia introduced emcee Kaitlyn Muñoz, of FOX 29 San Antonio’s morning show, Daytime At Nine. She was presented with a bouquet of roses, on behalf of Garcia Strawberry Farms in Poteet, by Shane Garcia. She also received a cowboy hat, donated by Rick’s Hats & Boots in Pleasanton. The hat was presented by Eric Garza.
San Antonio Police Officers Yvonne Padilla and Alex Garza, with the San Antonio Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors. They were joined by two members of local Boy Scout Troop #194, brothers Collin and Felix Gutierrez.
Jourdanton student Serah Kate Blair sang a beautiful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Visitors enjoyed an entertaining musical lineup throughout the day and evening.
Said Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President David Douglas, “Market Days was a great success with beautiful weather, nice crafts, great food and awesome entertainment.
“This year’s Market Days was in jeopardy of not happening due to funding issues, however, the show went on and we look forward to bringing more events and more family fun in the near future.
Thanks to everyone that came out and supported the Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, who dedicates most of their time and funds to providing free events for the children of our community.”
Douglas ended, “Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and remember you don’t have to be Hispanic to join and you don’t have to be a business owner to join. You just have to care about your community and helping.”
