Atascosa County Sheriffs deputies shut down a Marijuana growing operation last Wednesday, following a month long investigation. Sheriffs investigators and deputies executed a search warrant for a 20 acre tract of land south of Jourdanton around 1:30 p.m. Deputies caught 29-year-old Jose Raul Iruegas Jr., of the 1200 block of Plum in Jourdanton, watering 29 high grade marijuana plants in a small green house on the property.
Officers found fertilizer and watering buckets at the location. Iruegas was also allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana in his pocket when arrested. Iruegas was booked into the Atascosa County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 4 ounces and Possession of a Controlled Substance under 1 gram.
His bond was set at $20,000 by J. P. Orlando Carrasco and was released on July 21.
