Margarito Martinez Jr. passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 79. He was born in Pleasanton on November 10, 1939 to Margarito and Refugia (Quinones) Martinez.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Petra (Patty) Esparza Martinez, daughters Donna Gerami of Frisco, Anna Quintana and husband Ruben of Poteet and son Richard of Fort Worth. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Rick Leal (Kristine), Ramein Gerami (Michelle), Cristal Martinez-Stevens (Travis), Kimberly Holzier (James), and Ruben Quintana Jr. (Milagros) and six greatgrandchildren, Anthony Leal (Kimberly), Caison and Mykala Quintana, Leo and Josie Stevens and Lux Gerami, his brother Manuel Martinez (Abby) and sisters Elva Barron and JoAnn Contreras (Edward).

A lifelong resident of Pleasanton and established business owner of Martinez Sewing Machine and Vacuum Service, Margarito was always supportive of the local sports teams. He loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed fishing and visiting the Casinos. He leaves the gift of happy memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents Margarito Sr. and Refugia Martinez.

Visitation was conducted at Hurley Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15 from 2-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Monday, September 16 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at the Esparza Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Margarito’s service were Rick Leal, Ramein Gerami, Ruben Quintana, Sr., Ruben Quintana Jr., Anthony Leal and Tom Esparza.
