MARGARITA BOSQUEZ


 

 

Margarita P. Bosquez, 95 years old, of Christine entered her eternal rest on November 2, 2020, in Jourdanton. She was born, raised and was a longtime resident of Christine. Margarita attended school in Christine. Afterwards she worked for Laura Martin from Christine as a house maid. She then met the love of her life, Manuel P. Bosquez and they were married on August 13, 1943. They settled in Christine with their six children. Both worked at the Peeler Ranch for Dorothy Peeler from 1940 to 1952, then worked at the Old Timers Nursing home in Pleasanton for 13 years as a cook. This is where she found her love of cooking for others as well as her family. Anytime someone would come to visit she always took the time to feed them. If you couldn’t stay long, she would pack you a plate to go. She also worked at Mercy Hospital (TriCity) in Jourdanton for 29 years and retired as a cook. After her retirement she worked as a caregiver for Santos Garcia and Elodia Garcia for many years. Margaret was one of the kindest and most loving people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and home to anyone. Margarita’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren and many friends and family who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel P. Bosquez; parents, Doroteo Pacheco Sr. and Simona C. Pacheco; daughter, Elida Bosquez; brothers, Pablo Pacheco, Jose Pacheco, Joe M. Pacheco and Doroteo Pacheco Jr. She is survived by her sister, Natalia Valero of San Antonio; daughters, Aurora and Martin Llamas Jr., Aurelia B. and Manuel Canales Jr., Olivia T. Bosquez and Mary Ann and Mike Delgado; and sons, Ruben and Pauline Bosquez, and Aurelio and Librada Bosquez. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and 16 nephews and nieces.

Honorary Pallbearers are Martin Llamas Jr., Manuel Canales Jr., Mike Delgado, Adam Llamas, Ray Guzman, and George Garza.

Pallbearers will be Chris Llamas, Matthew Segura, Jerry Llamas, Roy E. Llamas, Dustin Delgado, Jason Bosquez and Roy Richard Trevino.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 10, at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn Road in Pleasanton, from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 11 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, corner of F Street and 10th in Christine at 10 a.m. Due to COVID-19, seating will be limited to 20 people at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Bautista Cemetery in Christine.
