Margaret White




 

 

Margaret Ann Fowler White of Malakoff, Texas left her earthly home and stood before her Savior on Monday, July 1, 2013. She was born October 25, 1932 in Dallas.

Early in life she made a commitment to Jesus Christ that she faithfully kept and her joyful spiritual life, care for those less fortunate and commitment to education was a constant witness to her husband, children and grandchildren.

She graduated at the top of her class from Corsicana High School in 1950 and went on to earn multiple degrees with honors from the University of North Texas and the University of Houston, culminating in a Doctorate in Math Education in 1986. For most of her life she taught math at various education levels. When she retired she was the department head of the Math & Engineering Division at College of the Southwest.

Ann is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, L. James White, daughter Cindy and husband Mike McFarland of Pleasanton, another daughter Lyn and husband Brian Farrell of Tomball and a son Jeff and wife Leslie White of Corsicana along with ten grandchildren, including Amanda McFarland Fitzhugh of Katy, Texas.
