Francisco Salinas, 23, of Jourdanton was arrested March 18 for allegedly possessing the controlled substanc cocaine which is a 3rd degree felony.
Jourdanton Police Officer Gonzales observed Salinas driving down Highway 97. Gonzales knew from a previous arrest that Salinas did not have a license or proof of insurance.
“Since the suspect did not have a driver’s license or insurance he was issued a citation. His vehicle was towed and he walked away from the scene,” stated Chief of Police Eric Kaiser.
Salinas’ vehicle was towed to the holding facility where Gonzales conducted a routine search.
“There was a small amount of what tested to be cocaine found in a small green bottle on the floor board,” stated Chief Kaiser. “An arrest warrant was issued and Salinas was taken in by our department on March 22.”
Salinas remains behind bars at the Atascosa County jail where his bond is set for $30,000.
