Louella Pivonka, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Louella was born on Tuesday, January 22, 1929 in Christine. She graduated from Jourdanton High School in 1946. That year the school only had 11 grades.
Louella married Victor Pivonka on December 12, 1946. The ceremony took place in the church rectory in Falls City. She worked for the Falls City School system for 8 years. She then took the job of City Secretary for Falls City where she worked for 24 ½ years before retiring.
Louella is survived by her daughter, Carole Moczygemba of San Antonio; son, Victor Pivonka of Floresville; one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Victor Pivonka; brother, Randall; sister, Gene; five brothers-in-law, Vince, Walter, Raymond and Joe Pivonka, and Grandville Bridges; five sisters-in-law, Vlasta Pesek, Mary Kohanak, Mildred Bridges, Leona Pivonka, and Louise Pivonka.
The family extends a special thank you and appreciation to long time friends, neighbors and the wonderful people of Nurses in Touch in Floresville.
Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, from 5 – 7 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Graveside services and interment will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Cemetery on Willow Street in Jourdanton at 12 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2017.
