They did it again. 2014’s Turn-n-Burn presented by the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and WESTERN Premium BBQ Products set another record as the largest pay-out for a barbecue cookoff in the State of Texas this past weekend.

Barbeque teams reached the 150 limit early on and there were plenty of people signed up on standby in case anyone dropped out.

Grand Champion prize of $5,000 went to Clarence Joseph’s team Mama & Papa Joe’s BBQ. His wife Alice is also on the team. They also came in second in the Brisket Division, third in Chicken and fourth in Pork Spare Ribs.

Bringing home Reserve Champion was Tim Balch and his Balch’s Blazin BBQ team. He also won first place in the Pork Spare Ribs division, fourth in Brisket and sixth in Chicken. He won $l,000.
