Pleasanton PD Blue Santa
The Pleasanton Police Department is preparing for their 2018 Blue Santa program. This program assists with toy donations for families needing assistance, for children ages 16 and younger.
The gifts will be distributed in December for those that applied for the program.
Pleasanton’s number one VFW post in the nation, Post 12162, has partnered with the Pleasanton Police Department to help make Christmas special for some of our local area children. We would like to ask for your help in assisting with toy donations. Unlike other toy programs, the Blue Santa Program collects and distributes toys in the Pleasanton community. Please help us make Christmas special for our local youth. Thank you for your support!
While the deadline to apply has passed, toy donations are being collected at these donation stations: H-E-B, EZ Max Loans, El Castillo, Pleasanton PD, the Pleasanton Express, EyeCare for Texans (Dr Mixon in Walmart) and Shifters.
Jourdanton PD Cops4Kids
The cold weather is injecting some holiday spirit! There are now collection boxes for the Jourdanton Police Department’s Cops4Kids throughout town (Jourdanton City Hall, Lowe’s, Dollar General, The Gym, all JISD campuses, 1st Commercial Bank, CAST and other locations.)
If you visit one of the above listed locations, they hope you will consider donating a new unwrapped toy to help JPD assist local families this Christmas Season!
Cops4Kids provides a fun afternoon of food games, gifts and a visit from Santa for JISD students who may face unique challenges during the holidays and is just one of the ways you can help the Jourdanton Police Department.
Angel Tree Locations
For those looking for Angel Trees in the area to donate toys for children this Christmas season, please stop by the following locations: First Commercial Bank Jourdanton, Jourdanton Community Library, Nest Feathers Fine Gifts & Home Decor, Paisleys, Cafe Chris and First Baptist Church Jourdanton.
Safer Path Adopt a Kid
Safer Path is gearing up for their annual Adopt A Family Program. Each year they reach out to the community seeking those interested in adopting either a child or children for the holiday. The shelter is blessed to have a local sorority adopt their mom/dad depending on who is the client, of these beautiful kids. So, they also get Christmas. The shelter just needs to get their kiddos adopted out. Here’s the requirements and how it works:
1. Decide how many children you would like to adopt for Christmas. (They urge you to adopt out the children in one family together, but it is not required).
2. You will receive the child’s first name only, age, gender, sizes, want and wish list. (For safety reasons you will not get to see or meet the child or children).
3. You go shopping! Each gift must be wrapped with the child’s name on the gift along with a dedicated number identifying the client, and that will be provided when you get the child’s wish list.
4. All gifts must be turned in by Monday, Dec. 17 by 4 p.m. the very latest.
5. A private Christmas party is held the same week for the children and they receive their gifts, along with meeting Santa.
Please call Shawnene Heather at 830-569-2001 or email her at email@example.com if you are still interested and want to adopt.
