Local schools offer Summer Feeding Programs beginning in June

Pleasanton ISD, Poteet ISD and Charlotte ISD will serve up good nutrition for local children this summer.

This summer, these three schools will provide children 18 years old and younger with healthy Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), meals at no cost to the child. SFSP is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered in the Lone Star State by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), for children who rely on school meals during the academic year. These meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for the summer vacation.

Jourdanton ISD will not be participating in the Summer Feeding Program this year. At JISD the amount of free/reduced students on campus is under 50 percent, TDA has exempt JISD from the Summer
