The National Night Out Association is celebrating 35 years this year and want you to join in on the fun with your local police departments. The Pleasanton, Jourdanton and Poteet Police Departments invite the public to attend their annual National Night Out events on Oct. 2

Pleasanton PD

Dress your best 80’s attire and make your way to Pleasanton River Park on Oct. 2 from 6-9 p.m. for Pleasanton PD’s National Night Out event.

The event is free with concessions, music, games and much more for everyone to enjoy. Agency vehicles will be available for kids to explore and AirLife will land at the baseball field. Local agencies and businesses will also be in attendance.

“Warm up your pitching arm because this year we will be featuring a Dunking

Booth. If your aim is true, you can dunk a police officer,” said Pleasanton Chief of Police Ronald Sanchez. “We hope to see you there, it will be fun for the whole family.”

Jourdanton PD

For the first time, the Jourdanton Police Department will host their own National Night Out event at the Jourdanton Sports Complex from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“This event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community,” said Jourdanton PD Chief Eric Kaiser. “Local business owners have teamed up with the Jourdanton Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office, Texas DPS, and other area agencies to provide food, music and fun for kids of all ages. Face painting, bounce houses, dunking booth, pumpkin painting, balloon animals, free food and drinks, music and more!”

Come on out on Oct. 2 to meet your local first responders and enjoy free food, music, games and more!

Poteet PD

The Poteet Police Department will be holding their National Night Out at the Municipal Park from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

The event is free to the community. Come and enjoy hot dogs, chips, raspas, popcorn, cookies, candy, ice cream and drinks with your family and friends while getting to know your local law enforcement officials.

There will be a booth set up where citizens can receive City of Poteet pet tags. Pet tags will be FREE (during the event) to individuals with proper proof of rabies and vaccinations. There will also be several local churches, organizations and first responders handing out goodies.

“This is a terrific opportunity to promote a first responder-community partnership and will ultimately make for safer neighborhoods. See you there!,” said Poteet Chief of Police Bruce Hickman.

The Pleasanton Express rock star interns will be out and about at each National Night Out live streaming parts of the event. Look in next week’s issue for a photo collage from all three events!
