I am passionate about what we do here at the Pleasanton Express. Working at this news organization takes exceptional talent, time, curiosity, perseverance, thick skin and a strong work ethic. It also takes a sense of humor and, above all else, a heart for everything local. Our team has all these key attributes for covering community news successfully.

I am thrilled to be surrounded by professionals who love what they do and why they do it.

Incredibly, since 1909, the Pleasanton Express has provided the community with a worthy and necessary service of telling the good, the great, the bad and the ugly of Atascosa County and the brush country. I am honored that the Wilkerson family will have hit our 50th year of ownership in two years. It has been so rewarding to have so much positive feedback about the Pleasanton Express when we are out in the community. We appreciate a shout-out from readers. I love nothing more than someone commenting on one of the team member’s hard work or great coverage of a story.

There are so many ways to get your news from the Pleasanton Express, and the best way is by picking up your print copy and then sharing it with your family and/or co-workers. But we also have an exact digital replica of our print newspaper, an e-edition, found at www.pleasantonexpress.com.

We received a call from our printer that the newspaper will be late Wednesday due to winter weather. We give away a lot for free here at the Pleasanton Express on our website, but you do have to have a subscription to read the e-edition. The e-edition has many great functionalities that are easy to use to improve your reading experience. We also offer our articles in audio so if you are driving and want to catch up on the news, you can just pull the Pleasanton Express up on your phone and hit the audio button prominently displayed below the title of every article.

The Pleasanton Express team will bring more improvements and advertising/ marketing opportunities your way in 2023- 2024. Thank you for being a reader of the Pleasanton Express. We strive to be the best community newspaper in South Texas, and we delight in covering the best small community in Texas – Atascosa County and the brush country.
