Little League baseball/softball season is just around the corner and the little leagues in Atascosa County are still looking for volunteers and sponsors to help out this season.
Pleasanton Little League is in need of volunteers to coach at all levels. Anyone interested in volunteering with Pleasanton LL is encouraged to visit their Facebook page or to call 210-352-0012. Pleasanton is also looking for sponsors for the upcoming season. Sponsorships start at $275 and go up to $1575. For more on sponsorships with Pleasanton LL visit the Pleasanton LL Facebook page.
Jourdanton Little League is looking for volunteers in several different rolls. Jourdanton is looking for baseball/softball umpires, concession stand volunteers and coaches. Jourdanton LL will also not be holding tryouts this season and will instead proceed with coaches picking teams in the draft next week.
According to the JLL Facebook page, this change was due to the time crunch of ordering uniforms. The tryouts had originally been scheduled for Jan. 22-23 but were postponed and ultimately canceled. Opening Day in Jourdanton is scheduled for March 26.
Poteet Little League has online registration open for players until midnight on Feb. 5. The link to sign up for Poteet LL is tshq.bluesombrero.com/poteetlittleleague. The Poteet LL website also has information on how to volunteer for the upcoming season. Poteet is in need of volunteers for coaching positions. Poteet LL is also looking for local businesses to be sponsors for the upcoming season. The cost of team sponsorship is $250 and includes the name of the business on the back of jerseys. Charlotte has need of volunteers in several areas. There are volunteer opportunities in concessions and public address announcing. Charlotte Little League is also looking for volunteers to help get the field ready for the upcoming season. The Charlotte LL also has sponsorships available.
