Local companies help keep Aggies cool in practice

Two local companies have made two-a-day football practices a bit cooler for the Aggies this year.

Manning Safety Services and Shale Equipment & Services have both provided cooling systems designed from mobile trailer units.

Owners Darrell Gonzales and Joanna Newsome-Gonzales of Manning Saftey Services have eight units in stock for use in the oil field industry.

“Playing sports growing up we thought it was a great idea and something the team would use for practices,” Darrell and Joanna said.

“We’ve used them for school field days before and just wanted to help out the community.”

Paul Garcia of Shale Equipment & Services is a 2006 Poteet High School graduate.

“I’ve been in their shoes,” Paul said as he pointed at the team on the field.

“We had one big tree to sit under during our breaks when I played. We wanted to help the kids cool off with these units while they are on the hot turf.”

The idea was coordinated by Poteet senior Donovan Roanin Garcia II as he enters his last season on the gridiron.
