Tableau to be presented

The Living Nativity Tableau has been First Presbyterian Church’s Christmas gift to the community since 1987. Members of Atascosa Christian Fellowship are joining in this year. Folks in the community are invited to participate in the production.

Costumes are available. There is not a script and no spoken lines. The Tableau will be Friday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 21, from 7-9 p.m. Every half hour the participants change so the best viewing is between the changes.

The Tableau features larger-than-life size camels for the Wise Men, shepherds around the fire, an angel above them and, of course, the creche scene. Over the years, the church has gathered costumes and other equipment to present the Tableau.

The scene is lit with dimcolored spotlights giving it a very peaceful and quiet atmosphere and many people pause to simply enjoy the feeling of it. And, while all the people in the production are real, many have asked if they were, because they stand so still!

The church is located just south of Pleasanton High School on Bryant St. (Hwy. 476) and just north of Hwy. 97. Cars should enter at the north driveway- next to the bowling alley- and exit at the south end of the drive- next to the transmission shop. Folks are encouraged to dim their lights as they drive through the parking lot.

Take some time out of your busy schedules to witness the true meaning of the season of Christmas. Hosanna Celebrates Christmas

Vision 180’s youth ministry and the children’s ministry will present short skits for the congregation at the 11 a.m. service. Come and join them and celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
