Lillie Broz Zaiontz of Pleasanton, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 86. She was born in Karnes City on January 7, 1934, one of five children to Roman and Jane Broz. Her husband, Robert Zaiontz, predeceased her. She is survived by her children, Vivian (Terry) Pedrotti, Mark Zaiontz, Patricia (Buddy) Lindsey, and Pamela Spence; grandchildren, Matthew (Janet) Pedrotti, Michael Pedrotti, Kaitlin (Matthew) Howton, Kenneth Pedrotti, Samantha Spence, Jessica Spence, and Isabelle Spence; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew and McKayla Pedrotti, Bryson Pedrotti, Bristol, Laney, and Jemma Howton, and Noah and Kinsley Pedrotti; four siblings, Dorothy Kvapil, James Broz, Alice Schoggins, Barbara Hall; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillie enjoyed gardening, especially growing orchids, and tending to her chickens. She loved to travel and enjoyed sewing quilts and in her younger days loved Polka dancing. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her much pleasure. She always had a “little surprise” for her special visitors. She will be greatly missed.
Lillie loved flowers, but you may also consider a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 28, from 5-7 p.m. followed by the reading of the rosary at 7 p.m at Hurley Funeral Home. A private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church Wednesday morning followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. We wish everyone could come to the Funeral Mass, but due to COVID-19 the numbers allowed to attend the Mass are restricted for everyone’s safety and ability to social distance. We do however welcome everyone to come to the graveside. We should be there around 11 a.m.
