The Pleasanton Lady Eagles picked up a pair of wins over San Antonio Young Women’s Leadership Academy and district foe Brooks Academy.
The Lady Eagles opened the week on Tuesday, Jan. 7, with a 59-34 win on the road over YWLA.
After leading 13-8 in the first quarter, the Lady Eagles outscored YWLA 20-6 in the second to take a 33-14 lead into halftime and never looked back.
Senior Baylee Bauer led the way for the Lady Eagles with 19 points, including five three-pointers. Kayli Kennedy finished Tuesday with eight points. Kyra Pacheco and Nika Garcia each had six.
The Lady Eagles returned to play in District 30-4A on Friday, Jan. 10, with a dominant showing against the Brooks Academy Lady Bengals.
The Lady Eagles came away with a 61-8 win Friday night thanks to stout defensive play.
Brooks could only manage two points in each quarter.
The Lady Eagles used an 18-2 run in the first quarter to take command of the game.
They would go on to outscore Brooks 18-2 in the second quarter and 16-2 in the fourth to seal the win.
Sadie McAda paced the Lady Eagles Friday night with 14 points. Kasie Castillo finished second on the team with 12 points. Kennedy once again posted eight points.
The two wins pushed the Lady Eagles’ win streak to four games.
Pleasanton (17-8, 2-2) hopes to keep their hot streak going with games against Gonzales on Jan. 14 and La Vernia on Jan. 17.
