Lady Eagles split pair of matches

The Pleasanton Lady Eagles split a pair of matches last week.

The Lady Eagles opened the week with a win over Randolph (25-22, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20) on Tuesday, Sept. 8, before falling to Cornerstone Christian (25- 11, 25-13, 25-8) on Friday, Sept. 11.

Sophomore hitter Sadie McAda posted 31 kills and 26 digs to power the Lady Eagles to the win on Tuesday. Tess Underbrink had 39 assists and 11 digs to help the Lady Eagles’ cause on Tuesday.

That offense was held in check by Cornerstone with the Lady Eagles only managing 13 kills on Friday.

McAda had six kills while Victoria Urbanczyk had seven. Underbrink had 12 assists. Brianna Garcia posted a team-high six blocks in Friday’s loss to go with seven in Tuesday’s win.

The Lady Eagles (9-4) hosted Holy Cross on Tuesday night and will travel to Carrizo Springs on Friday, Sept. 18, before beginning district play at Cuero on Sept. 22.

Pleasanton’s next home match is Friday, Sept. 25, against La Vernia at 6 p.m.
