The Pleasanton girls basketball team pulled off a shocking upset over state-ranked Devine in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles overcame a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to stun the District 29-4A champion Arabians, 42-40, at San Antonio Lanier High School. The win sends Pleasanton to the area round to face Aransas Pass, which defeated Rio Hondo in bi-district.
Lady Eagles senior Aubrey Guerra scored a game-high 17 points, including 10 in the final period as Pleasanton outscored No. 22 Devine 21-12.
The Lady Eagles will take on Aransas Pass at 7 p.m. Friday at George West.
