The Pleasanton volleyball team will enter district play 20-9 after sweeping San Antonio Burbank on Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-21, 25-19, 25-14 at the Pleasanton ISD Sports Complex to close out their non-district schedule. Pleasanton will kick off District 30-4A action Friday on the road at Beeville.
“Overall, a very good game before district starts,” Lady Eagles coach Gabriel Aguirre said. “The girls played a complete game, start to finish, and everyone who played contributed to the win.”
Senior outside hitter Courtney Ridge led the Lady Eagles with 10 kills and 14 digs. Amber Guerra and Maggie Cleary had 13 and 12 assists, respectively.
Pleasanton was able to control play at the net, racking up double-digit blocks. Kaycie Shannon, who also had six kills and 12 digs, had a team-high eight blocks. Janessa Ximenez had four blocks to go with her seven kills.
Junior Laken McAda chipped in six kills and 10 digs.
In other 30-4A action Friday, Poteet will host Cuero in their district opener.
