The Pleasanton Lady Eagles kept their season alive by winning another bi-district championship on Tuesday in a five-set thriller with Devine (25- 19, 20-25, 26-24, 11-25, 15-11).
“We finally got the monkey off our back of losing to Devine,” head coach Gabriel Aguirre said. “It took [five] games, but the girls showed a lot of heart in staying in the match … But in the end, the girls played their best Volleyball and came away with a big win.”
The Lady Eagles’ win was spearheaded by freshman hitter Sadie McAda, who tallied an astounding team-high double double of 26 kills and 25 digs to go with one ace. Senior Madeline Keylich was second on the team with nine kills. Keylich and libero Kalyssa Rios each had 18 digs in the win.
Brianna Garcia and Skylar Schimelpfening were a force at the net defensively. Garcia notched six blocks while Schimelpfening picked up four.
