Kindness spreads to RockportFree Access

When sports fan and former athlete Stacie Talamantez thought of an idea of raising money for the Rockport schools after Hurricane Harvey damaged their buildings and equipment, she had no idea the generosity of those who would step up to help.

T-shirts, designed by BesTee’s, were sold to many with the slogan “Texas Strong” with the Pirate’s and Eagle’s logo connected by a heartbeat.

Will and Leticia Turner, owners of Meme’s Kitchen offered to feed the Rockport football team as their form of support.

After a great game on Friday, October 13, the chartered busses pulled up and the Pirate team, coaches and trainers were treated to a hot meal complete with dessert.

Talamantez then addressed the guests on behalf of Audrey and Kevin McCleary. The McClearys lost both of their children, Maddie and Tanner, to a horrible auto accident earlier this year. They then have made it their mission to start a movement #spreadkindnessforMandT by distributing bracelets to be worn and/or shared to those who perform an act of kindness. Talamantez passed out bracelets to each guest, encouraging them to keep Maddie and Tanner’s legacy alive by being kind in any way they can.

If kindness is as abundant as the reach that our posted video achieved on the Pleasanton Express’ Facebook page (at press time almost 19,000 views, 32,337 reach with 221 shares) then we are all on the way to spreading the word and honoring Madison and Tanner.
