KEVIN KURZ

On November 27, 2022, heaven gained its most special angel. Kevin Nathan Kurz was born November 2, 1976 to Robert and Ellen Kurz and for 46 years, his devoted parents were by his side. Kevin was a lifelong resident of Somerset and was a graduate of Somerset High School in 1999.

While in school some of his proudest moments were being a manager to the football team and showing pigs in the FFA program. He also participated in the Special Olympics and was a selfproclaimed Olympic Bowling Champion! After graduation, you could always find him with his father doing ranch work, driving his golf cart around the neighborhood and helping his mother with chores around the house. As a Professional Gate Opener, he proudly gave out his business cards to anyone he met. There wasn’t a feed store or restaurant in South Texas that didn’t know him. He recently harvested his first 9-point buck and was recognized at the Texas Big Game Awards with a standing ovation. He loved cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs and Fighting Texas Aggies.

He was proud of his Boy- Boy (Michael) and his Lovey Dovey (Lacy) and is the inspiration for both of their career paths. But, his proudest title was uncle to Riley, Haylee and Myles.

To know Kevin is to love him. He never met a stranger and could put a smile on anyone’s face and had the most wonderful big hugs. God hand picked him to be ours, and our family is truly blessed to call him our own.

Kevin is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Ellen Kurz; brother, Michael Kurz and wife, Jodee; sister, Lacy Fisher and husband Rusty (Number 1 Bud); nieces and nephew, Riley Fisher, Haylee Field and Myles Kurz. Numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Lorraine Kurz; Inez Morton; Willis Morton; uncle, RG Kurz; cousin, Marshall Kurz.
