Jr. High Eagle Basketball Report





The Pleasanton Jr. High Eagles continued their Jr. High Basketball season with games against Cuero and Poteet. The “A” and “B” teams continued to show plenty of positives as they were able to win three out of their four games.

Jr. High Eagles “A”- The Pleasanton Jr. High Eagles “A” team was able to down Cuero and Poteet to improve to 2-1 on the season.

When the Eagles faced the Gobblers at home, they were able to down Cuero in a close battle by a score of 24-22.

“Zach Smith hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds to go to tie the game at 22. Eric Del Toro went on to hit the game winning basket with two seconds,” stated Coach Mike Guerra.

Scoring- Cade Smith 9, Zach Smith 5, Eric Del Toro 4, Nick Oldham 4 and Shawn Graybill 2.

Monday evening the Eagles made the nine-mile trek to Poteet to face the Jr. High Aggies. Pleasanton was able to down Poteet in a defensive battle by a score of 20-15.

“Graybill and Del Toro hit clutch free throws at the end of the game to help us secure the win,” stated Coach Guerra.

Scoring- Graybill 9, DelToro 5, Smith 3, Zach Carrasco 2, Nick Delgado 1.

Jr. High Eagles “B”- The “B’ team Eagles were able to split recent action with a win over Cuero and a tough road loss at Poteet.

On November 17th, the Eagles hosted the Cuero Gobblers as Pleasanton was able to knock off the Gobblers by a score of 14-13.

Scoring- Craig Robles 6, Anthony Leal 4, Nick Labauve 2, Bobby Brendel 1, Cristian Pena 1.

When the Eagles traveled to Poteet on Monday, November 21st, the Eagles offense struggled against a scrappy Poteet squad. The Aggies played great defense, as they defeated the Eagles 19-5.

Scoring- Robles 4, Albert Martinez 1.

Upcoming Game- On Thursday, December 1st the Eagles will travel to Gonzales to battle the Apaches with games beginning at 4:30 p.m.
