City residents may begin setting out their bulk trash and brush beginning the weekend of April 25 in preparation for citywide pick-up which begins the first week in May. All items must be placed curbside no later than May 1st to be included in this pick-up which is the first of two scheduled for this year. Residents are not required to call City Hall to be put on a list as this will be a city wide pick-up. Guideline rules may be picked up at the front counter of City Hall. This is now a twice a year event with the next city wide pick-up scheduled for November 1st of this year. Once again residents may also set out old tires, batteries, paint, used motor oil, and other petroleum products in a separate area from their regular brush and bulk waste. All of these types of liquids must be in a maximum of five gallon or smaller sealed containers and are to be placed as close to the street as possible but not in the path of traffic. City employees will then remove and properly dispose of only these items as an additional service to our residents in a continuing effort to keep our city both clean and safe for all. We urge all residents to use this opportunity to clean up their yards and empty their properties of excess materials while helping our city to be the best and cleanest it can be.
The city recycling center located at 1449 Lillian remains open every Tuesday morning between the hours of 8 a.m. thru 10 a.m. This facility is for use by City of Jourdanton residents only. Please bring a copy of your most current water bill as proof of residence. We ask that you please help us with this transition by spreading the word to your friends and neighbors while keeping your eyes out for future notifications in this publication and your city water bill as well as the city marquee located at the intersection of SH 97 and 16.
