Jourdanton wins district meet at home

Jourdanton’s tennis team won the District 3A- 30 meet, which took place April 6 and 8.

“We are so proud of all of our players and all the hard work they have put into our tennis program,” said Jourdanton tennis head coach Debbie Brashear.

Jourdanton won four events.

Lea Karren won girls singles for the fifth time this season.

Jenna Kuykendall and Luke Jordan won mixed doubles.

Averie Villarreal and Kristin Mueller won girls doubles. Emmanuel Lugo and Javier Flores won boys doubles.

Hunter Rankin took second in boys singles. Demaris Jones and Bailey Lemes were second in girls doubles.

First and second place finishers qualify for the regional tournament in San Marcos on April 18 and 19.

Following are thirdplace finishers who are alternates: Soledad Bautista in girls singles, Tiernan Ross and Fernando Rangel in boys doubles and Jenny Vrana and Ty Myers in mixed doubles.
