Jourdanton upended by CotullaFree Access

The Jourdanton Indians suffered their first loss of the season in a 20-14 loss on the road to Cotulla on Friday.

Jourdanton was held to a season-low of 205 yards of total offense Friday night. Cotulla held the Indians high-powered passing attack to just 69 yards, another season-low. Junior quarterback Cole Andrus was 7-of-19 for those 69 yards with a touchdown and an interception to his name.

The Indians were just 1-of-7 on third down conversions in the loss.

Nick Cordova led the way on the offensive side with 81 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries. He also had two catches for nine yards and Jourdanton’s only receiving touchdown.

Jourdanton’s defense got after Cotulla, Brett Berg and Robert Miranda each had 14 tackles to tie for the team-high. Derek Jenschke had eight. All three had a tackle for a loss and Berg registered a sack.

Jourdanton (7-1, 2-1) welcomes Lytle (1-6, 0-3) to Indian Stadium for homecoming this Friday.
