Jourdanton sends seven girls, three boys to track regional



Jourdanton will have a total of nine athletes at the 3A track and field regional in Converse April 26-27.

The Squaws placed fourth as a team with 78 points at the area meet in Goliad on April 16, while the Indians were eighth as a team with 29 points.

The Squaws had two second-place finishes among their six athletes in the regional. Shyanne Bauerle was the fifth-highest scoring female athlete. The Indians advancing came from three different events. Below are all of Jourdanton’s top-four finishes who advance to regionals:

Girls

4×100 meter relay team (Alexis Wheeler, Shyanne Bauerle, Carli Foster and Demaris Jones), second, 52.26 seconds

4×200 meter relay team (Wheeler, Carli Foster, Gwyn Wells, Katlyn Polasek), third, 1:54.22.

Bauerle: 200 meter dash, second, 28.28 seconds; 400 meter dash, third, 1:04.70; long jump, third, 16 feet, five inches.

Gwyn Wells: 200 meter dash, third, 28.65 seconds.

Ally Foster: high jump, fourth, four feet, 10 inches.

Boys

Colton Schuchart: 400 meter dash, fourth, 53.95 seconds.

Aidan Borth: 200 meter dash, fourth, 24.30 seconds.

Derek Jenschke: discus, second, 128 feet, 6 1/4 inches.
