Jourdanton sending 21 to area meetFree Access

JOURDANTON—More than 20 Jourdanton athletes—including a pair of district champions— advanced to the area meet after top-four finishes at the 26-3A meet Wednesday and Thursday at Indian Stadium.

Mayce Marek and Destiny Powell won district titles in the high jump and pole vault, respectively, to lead 21 participants who will compete at the 25/26-3A area meet April 18 at Converse Judson’s Rutledge Stadium.

Jourdanton will have competitors in 15 individual events and five relays. The Squaws, who placed third in the district team standings, finished with 94 points. The Indians were sixth in the boys division with 53 points.
